Picture this: You're sprinting through a CrossFit workout, pushing your limits, and making personal records left and right. But amist all the progress, you can't help but wonder if you could still hop in and play a game of softball, or if you had the strength to go rock climbing with your friends. Lucky for you, part of CrossFit’s methodology includes the saying “regularly learn and PLAY new sports” Combining CrossFit with learning or trying new sports can take your fitness AND health to new heights.
Bold Move: Ignite Your Inner Fire
I challenge you to find a sport or an activity that you have always wondered about but never jumped into the deep end to try. Talk to you coach (or a friend) about it and commit to doing that activity. A solid amount of time for you to feel like you are learning and making progress in this activity is 2x/week for an hour each time commit 2 MONTHS to doing this and decide if you want to get better, or learn a new skill!
Flexibility and Mobility: The Missing Pieces

Now, let's talk flexibility and mobility. These unsung heroes of fitness are often overlooked but play a crucial role in optimizing your performance and preventing injuries. Often times the time spend on mobility inside the CrossFit gym is too little to make consistent impacts on your injury prevention and continued progress.

Imagine yourself as a graceful ninja, effortlessly maneuvering through various CrossFit movements. By integrating yoga or Pilates, you unlock a new level of flexibility and mobility. You'll be amazed at how seamlessly you transition from one CrossFit exercise to another, like a well-oiled machine! Static positions, time under tension, and breathing during movement all help, I dare you to commit to 2 months of Yoga 2x/week and tell me that all other areas of your fitness and health aren’t better.
